ArcanemusicArcaneMusic We are not the sort who would fit the physical description of the next torchbearers of hip- hop culture. However, often the antidote lies 180 degrees from where one might expect to find it. Vernon (our neck of the woods) has never been a place synonymous with a breeding ground for MC's and DJ's. Arcane will change that. With respect to those before and now, from the BDP's, and Rakim's, to the Tribe Called Quest's and Gangstarr's , to the Common's and Outkast's Arcane comes.

5th L

The Hip-Hop culture is comprised of four elements: break dance, emceeing/rap music, graffiti and the DJ's on the turntables. Spoken word, however, consists of poetry, theatre and a touch of the hip-hop flavor. Cloaked as the natural elements of this planet, five Baltimore and DC spoken word artists decided to form the performance poetry group, "The 5th eLement:" Droopy (the Water), Sir Reigns (the Fire), Komplex (the Earth), The Dri Fish (the Wind) and Native Son (the Spirit). These individuals all retain the common belief that spoken word is the missing link to the hip-hop culture.
